I have read this story and all I can do is shake my head. Being a mother of four and a few years ago I got three of my daughters the flu shot my thinking is that I would kill two birds with one stone. While getting my check-up I though why not get the girls their flu shot so doing what a mother feels right I did it and maybe four days later my girls were sick as @*&%, all had fevers all stopped eating and I even called 911, and was told that as long as they weren’t dehydrated etc. they would be fine. Lets just say that my children have not gotten a flu shot since. So I say as a parent you have to make the right choices for your child. So my heart goes out to this family as well as my prayers.
Stephanie told BuzzFeed News that Joie seemed fine on Thanksgiving, but many of their family members got sick after the holiday. Joie went home sick from her warehouse job the next Sunday and went on Tamiflu , a drug designed to treat viral flu symptoms, the next day. But on early Tuesday morning, she felt worse and began coughing up blood. Her family took her to the hospital, and an X-ray showed that she had a serious case of pneumonia . Joie was given IV antibiotics, but her health kept deteriorating. While hospital staff moved Joie to the intensive care unit, her heart stopped. Despite being resuscitated once, she died at 3:25 . that day.
